Hello my name is SGT Hughes I am the NOCIC
of a Post Office here in Kabul  reason I writing is because
a soldier named Trager got in the mail four(4) package
from an Ms Baker inside was back packs for our military
person and inside the backpack was care package from
the quiltlady and as being in charge of this Post
Office I got tears in my eyes because of you and some
of the American people who do care for us  not just
the fine gifts but also your prays and kind words
      I want to thank you and hope you pass it
along to all that work there if I could reach across
the ocean would shake your hands and tell you all
that you are the true Hero because you believe
in an free country and most likely trust in the Lord

Dear Friends,

I am the wounded warrior who received your care package after the hummer I was in was blown up by an IED. I was air medevaced without my equipment and in the ER they cut my clothes off. I had nothing at that time. As soon as I was in a bed at the hospital, someone came by and gave me the bag that you had so caringly packed. I was able to get cleaned up and feel human again. You cannot imagine how it made me feel to know that I was not alone in this. Yours was the first touch of kindness when I needed it the most. Please do not stop what you are doing. I thank you so very, very much. God bless you all!

Operation Enduring Freedom

To Whom It May Concern:

I just wanted to email you and tell you how nice this quilt is. It was given to me at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan after I'd been medevac'd from Camp Phoenix outside of Kabul. It's obvious that you put a lot of time and care into making this blanket and I just want to say thank you. I will hang on to this thing forever and one day maybe I'll be able to pass it down to my kids. Thanks again!

My name is chaplain Daniel Middlebrooks and I am the new chaplain for the hospital in Baghdad. I wanted to write and express our deepest thanks for the incredible quilts made for our soldiers. We arrived here right at Christmas and these quilts were a wonderful surprise. The soldiers were amazed at the beauty and care. It is wonderful to have something fashioned with love to cover us in a place where love, often, is not. It truly is a blessing to be in a place to take care of our wounded troops. Thank you for taking care of us!

Last week my daughter and I had to stay at Walter Reed because of her need for surgery where we were presented with a "Ladies Bag". On behalf of my daughter, her deceased father and I we say thank you.

I was sent from Iraq to Walter Reed Army Medical Center. I'm 44 years old and have been in the Air Force for 22 years. I love serving my country and representing you.

Dear Pat,

Thank you so much for supporting the troops. I am a wounded warrior from Iraq (Mosul). I was injured when our area of operation was attacked by mortar rounds. I injured my neck, back & both arms. I am a Civil Affairs soldier and our mission was providing help to the Iraqi civilians. I am a truck driver and maintained accountability of the troops movements. I have been in the military for 21 yrs. I am also a non-commissioned officer. Please continue to support our troops as we transition through our recovery.

My husband was medivaked to Walter Reed Army Medical Center after having a brain aneurism on deployment overseas, while in the hospital he was given a quilt made by Ziggy's Quick Quilters. I just wanted to thank them for taking the time to make & send them, it really makes a difference. My husband Todd was in critical ICU for 3 weeks and having 3 children we were all very scared of what the future holds, receiving this quilt made him realize that America does care about our military. Thank you for making an impact on our lives, we have a long recovery and probably brain surgery ahead of us but knowing that people care, makes all the difference. And you never know whose life you may be reaching—my husband is from Jamestown NY—funny how life happens.
